Tudor Barn, Burnham, Rustic & Romantic Exclusive Use Wedding Venue

Tudor Barn Weddings

Tudor Barn in Burnham is a rustic & romantic barn situated in six acres of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside and is absolutely stunning. However, you need more than just a pretty building to make a great venue. The layout of the building affects how the day flows and the facilities affect what you can and cannot do. But possibly the most important factor has to be the staff – without great staff even the most perfect wedding venue is mediocre.

At The Tudor Barn, we offer something we know no other venue can’t: our wedding team. Run by Debbie, our couples tell us that they don’t know how they could have made it through the ups and downs of planning a wedding without them. From the first meeting to the final guest leaving, you’ll have Debbie by your side!

Although I’m a wedding photographer based in North Wales, I photograph weddings all over the country, in a lot of different venues. I can confirm that the staff at Tudor Barn are as good as the venue itself. Debbie and her team were warm, friendly and really helpful. It was obvious that they made everyone feel at home all day long.

I caught up with Tessa, Director of Tudor Barn to find out what she thinks makes Tudor Barn such a unique wedding venue…

One of the first things she mentioned was that The Tudor Barn is an exclusive use venue.

“The Tudor Barn belongs to the couple for the whole day, unlike hotels where there can be several weddings. With its large Banquet Hall, bright and airy Garden Room and beautiful grounds give the day a fairy-tale feeling.”

I’m a big fan of individuality, and couples being able to express themselves and their personalities. So I always like to know how much freedom they have when it comes to choosing suppliers and making the venue their own…

“The Tudor Barn is a blank canvas for couples. Although we supply a comprehensive list of Recommended Suppliers, couples can choose their own if need be. The only suppliers couples are required to use are our in-house caterers and our lighting supplier.”

“We had a wonderful wedding in 2019 with a Harry Potter theme. It was staggering! Long banquet tables, suspended lights hanging from above, and even a sorting hat next to the table plan! Hogwarts had come to Burnham!”

I think it’s important for venues to be able to be used in different ways, depending on the season. And as outdoor ceremonies are one of my favourite ways for couples to get married I always like to know if that’s a possibility.

“The Tudor Barn has a civil ceremony licence. Most ceremonies are held in our beautiful Garden Room, but more and more couples are opting for our stunning wedding gazebo in our garden. There are also several churches nearby, so couples and guests don’t need to travel far!

We have many weddings over the festive period. And the British Weather means we are always prepared for what Mother Nature throws at us!”

Of course, the other thing that I think is really important is the ability to have a really good party!

“We often have live bands. They’ll need to produce insurance and PAT testing certificate for their equipment. We have a curfew time of 12.30am and last orders is 11.50pm.”

“Go for unique. No one remembers a hotel venue, but an intimate and personal venue like The Tudor Barn adds to the day. It’s as if the venue is another wedding guest.”
