I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but I love being a Wedding Photographer. I love that so many awesome couples have chosen to spend their wedding day with me… It’s properly humbling when you think about it like that. And it’s not just that they’ve chosen to spend the day with me, it’s that I get welcomed into their lives at this momentous occasion and made to feel like family. And that hasn’t been more true than with Hannah & Jonty… I had THE most fun documenting their wedding at Delbury Hall Coach House. Here’s how it went down…
I was one of the first to arrive so took the opportunity to get
a few shots of Delbury Hall Coach House. Everyone else arrived about 5 mins after I did, so I gave them a couple of mins to settle in and then headed up to join the preparations. Their make up was done by Nina Jackson & Alison Jackson and Emma Owen did their hair, all three are lovely and an absolute pleasure to work with… Obviously it goes without saying that Hannah, her Bridesmaids and Mum all looked absolutely stunning. There was an air of excitement all morning, although this peaked with Hannah getting into her dress, as no-one other than her Mum had seen her in it. So it was a big surprise for both her Dad and her Bridesmaids – which I thought was really nice.
As Hannah & Jonty were both getting ready at Delbury Hall I got to hang out with the boys for a bit – which is always nice! The button holes, bouquets and flower arch were all created by Borage & Blossom and looked simply stunning.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day which meant… Outdoor ceremony – my favourite! Confetti was thrown as they walked down the aisle and then we got straight into group shots, quickly followed by canapés and reception drinks. I loved the “Beer Barrows” and the “Pimp Your Prosecco” station was genius. Although, I think the master stroke came in the form of Crazy Golf! See what I did there? Master stroke? Hmmm, moving on…
Just before the wedding breakfast we snuck off for a few natural portraits around the lake and in front of Delbury Hall itself. It was then into the speeches, which were spread out between the courses of the wedding breakfast. Incidentally, the Ludlow Catering Company did a great job of the food – the lamb shank was spectacular 😉 Father Of The Bride was up first, followed by Jonty, Jonty’s Brother In Law, the Best Men went last… Followed by a bonus impromptu mini speech from Hannah.
After cutting the cake (made by Hannah’s Mum) it was first dance time – these two have got moves! And boy do they know how to party! In between band sets we ate hog roast and played with sparklers, then back in for some more disco dancing. Thunderbirds really know how to build to a finale, they played 3 (THREE) last songs and everybody went harder for each one! I absolutely love staying until the end, the feeling of being there for that last song and saying goodbye to everyone on a proper high, reminds me a little of New Years Eve… Only I’m not drunk and can still remember it the next day – although I do still want to sleep for most of it.
Here are my favourite moments from Hannah & Jonty’s wedding…
