Sunset at Nant Gwrtheyrn

Nant Gwrtheyrn is a gorgeous wedding venue in a truly spectacular location. Situated on the North West coast, of the Llŷn Peninsula. This former quarry village has a lot more to offer than just spectacular views…

Weddings at Nant Gwrtheyrn

Nant Gwrtheyrn, or “The Nant” as it’s often called has its own private beach, a chapel (Capel Seilo), two spaces for civil ceremonies (Ystafell Rhys or Sgubor), multiple function rooms and accommodation – what more could you want from a wedding venue?

Beth & Alex got in touch after being engaged for just 4 weeks! After a few emails, we met for a drink to talk about all things weddings, wedding photography and get to know each other a bit better. Beth had already admitted that she loved photography and that made her fussy – I took that as a compliment and we hit it off immediately.

Fast forward a couple of years, one pandemic later, and their wedding day finally arrived – woohoo!

Although Nant Gwrtheyrn is a lovely wedding venue, the weather plays an important role in weddings here. It’s one of the things that makes it so special. The forecast for the day wasn’t great, but it certainly could have been a lot worse.

The morning was really chilled, Beth and her bridesmaids all helped each other with their hair & makeup. And Alex got ready a couple of doors down with his Best Man.

Unfortunately, umbrellas were needed to and from the Chapel, but as you can see from their faces, I don’t think that really mattered!

It was then drinks and canapés on the balcony, under the cover of their newly installed retractable canopy roof. Beth & Alex delivered a lovely combined speech. Then after a rather delicious wedding breakfast, it was her Dad’s turn, with a surprise appearance from one of her oldest friends. Her sister and Bridesmaid had written an awesome poem, and Alex’s Best Man’s finished off the speeches with plenty of laughs!

It wasn’t long before Beth and her Dad had a dance as Alex has a horrible fear or performance – something that I think a lot of people can relate to!

Then, Twisted Tubes opened up the alfresco dancefloor (balcony) and got the party started properly!

Congratulations & Thank Yous

Massive, massive congratulations to Beth & Alex. Thank you for being fussy but still choosing me to be your wedding photographer! I had a great time hanging out with you both.
