Congratulations Laura & Geraint! A Bodysgallen Hall Wedding (Part 2)

Laura and her Father were waiting just outside the ceremony room…  The music started, they made their way down the steps and towards Geraint.  I think his reaction says everything that needs to be said about how beautiful she looked.  It was a lovely service, spoken in both Welsh & English.

If you missed my introduction to Laura & Geraint, I’ll quickly sum it up now…  They met while Laura was on holiday over here, she lived in Australia at the time.  They spent a year in a long distance relationship, both making various trips across to see each other.  And now they’re married and settling down in Wales.  The week Laura left Australia there were bush fires and she landed during the recent flooding – so it was quite literally one extreme to the other.

Anyway, I thought it was a lovely touch to have the service in both Welsh & English, as it perfectly reflected the joining of these two families from opposite sides of the world.

After the champagne had been served and all the congratulations made, Laura announced she had a small confession.  After insisting that she looked after Geraint’s ring because she would “keep it safe”, she very nearly lost it!  Geraint had no idea as she’d managed to hunt and find it in secret.  Geraint then announced that the Vicar had told him that their marriage papers had only just arrived from Cardiff that morning! So there were a few hiccups along the way, but everything ran smoothly on the day.  It was then time to have wander around the beautiful grounds.  After a few group shots, it was back into the warm for their wedding breakfast & the speeches…

The speeches were exactly what you’d expect from such a relaxed couple and an intimate wedding.  They were personal and from the heart.  Funny stories were told and genuine gratitude expressed.  After the standard speeches there were a few on the spot additions, which goes to shows how much everyone was moved by their speeches.  Laura, Geraint and myself then took another wander around the grounds to make the most of the last bit of light…

It’s always important that you meet your photographer if at all possible, but even more so if you’re having an intimate wedding.  Laura & Geraint are an awesome couple and we got on like a house on fire. I really enjoyed documenting their wedding.  Bodysgallen Hall is a stunning venue and I hope to be back photographing more weddings at Bodysgallen soon!

Here are some more of my favourite shots from their day…  Follow this link if you missed Part One.
