I always encourage the couples I meet to make their wedding about them. \u00a0“Cram as much of your personalities into your day as you can – it’s your day so make it all about you”, I say. \u00a0Ashley & Domico definitely did that. \u00a0Although\u00a0they were always going to do that, no matter what I said \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

You may remember\u00a0that I ran a “Win Your Wedding Photography” competition earlier this year. \u00a0Well, Ashley & Domico were the lucky winners! \u00a0The draw was completely at random, but I was so excited when I read their entry. \u00a0Here’s a little bit about them from their entry form…<\/p>\n

“My partner and I have relocated to Liverpool, UK from the sunny isles of Bermuda. We have come to the UK to raise our family and to be closer to our first love – football! We met back in 2006 on the football pitch. We both played for the same football club – Devonshire Cougars. \u00a0He played for the men’s team, while I played for the women’s team. We even went on to play for The Bermuda National Football Teams, together! What can I say? \u00a0We are ballers! \u00a0Our wedding is not going to be the same old boring traditional wedding, with the white dress and flowers. We dare to be different!”<\/p>\n

And dare to be different they did! \u00a0Ashley wore black leather trousers, corset studded with diamonds and a… skirt? (I don’t know the proper name for it) but she looked killer. \u00a0Her daughter looked amazing in her matching outfit and Domico\u00a0looked uber cool in an all-black suit & bow tie. \u00a0Their love of football was everywhere, from the large football table centres to the chocolate footballs as favours to the football wedding cake. \u00a0The Malmaison in Liverpool was the perfect wedding venue – dramatic and cool – plus Ashley’s room had vintage football pictures on the wall. \u00a0It was a lovely relaxed wedding, with no evening reception. \u00a0They hadn’t planned on having a first dance, but as always seems to be the case, they got forced into it by mounting pressure from their guests. \u00a0And considering most of the had travelled from Bermuda or the US it seems only fair they put on a little bit of a show \ud83d\ude09 but they did get up and join in with a little Bermudan dance afterwards.<\/p>\n

Ashley & Domico\u00a0are such a lovely couple and spoilt me rotten. \u00a0They included me on their table plan(!) so I spent the wedding breakfast enjoying some lovely food while chatting about the difference between Bermuda, the US and the UK. \u00a0As always I had an awesome day – here are a few of my favourites…<\/p>\n
